ABOUT DANITA
I’ve spent much of my life being the person people could count on.
In the military. In leadership. In business. In ministry. In my family.
I've been trusted with missions, teams, organizations, resources, decisions, and people I love.
For a long time, being able to figure things out felt like one of my greatest strengths.
It still is.
But I've also learned that capability comes with questions we don't always stop long enough to ask.
What is actually mine to carry?
THE STORY BEHIND THE WORK
I know something about carrying things that matter.
My life hasn't followed one neat professional path.
I served in the Air Force, worked in defense and government, developed capabilities for Special Operations, managed complex programs, built businesses, helped lead a nonprofit, wrote a book, started a podcast, and raised a family alongside my husband.
I've been in rooms where decisions carried significant consequences. I've also learned that some of the hardest things we carry never appear on a résumé.
Family. Relationships. Expectations. Disappointment. Responsibility. Faith. The lives we thought we'd have. The people we love and cannot fix.
Somewhere along the way, I began paying attention to the difference between being capable of carrying something and knowing whether it was actually mine to carry.
That question has become part of the thread running through my writing, speaking, leadership, and life.
THE ROAD HERE
My work has taken me into very different rooms.
I'm a U.S. Air Force veteran and former Special Operations capability developer whose career has included defense acquisition, technology, enterprise architecture, and decisions about capabilities and resources that mattered to real missions and real people.
MISSION & DEFENSE
I've founded and built organizations, advised government-facing businesses, led strategic planning, and today serve as President of Synwave, a deployable communications company I co-founded with my husband.
BUILDING & LEADING
I founded the Alpha Life Pregnancy Center and have served in nonprofit leadership, including years of speaking in churches and communities about its mission and the lives it serves.

I'm the author of Promise Over Purpose, host of the Entrusted to Lead podcast, and a speaker and teacher whose work has taken me into churches, schools, podcasts, community gatherings, professional settings, and international ministry.

BEYOND THE BIO
The resume is true. It just isn’t the whole story.
I'm also a wife, a mother of four adult children, a military spouse, a daughter, a friend, and a woman still learning what it means to live faithfully inside an ordinary life.
I've known achievement and disappointment. Seasons of building and seasons of letting go. Times when faith felt certain and times when I had more questions than answers.
I've learned that leadership isn't confined to organizations, and neither is responsibility.
Sometimes the most important work happens far from a conference room—in a conversation around the kitchen table, on a quiet walk through the woods, in prayer, or in the decision to stop carrying something that was never ours to control.
My faith is not separate from how I see the world.
WHAT GROUNDS ME
I'm a Christian, and my faith shapes how I understand identity, leadership, suffering, responsibility, hope, and what it means to live a meaningful life.
You'll find that faith expressed more explicitly in some parts of my work than others. Promise Over Purpose, my Christian education & teaching, and much of my personal writing enter that room fully.
But you don't have to share my faith to find a place in the larger conversation.

I grew up in the oilfields of Oklahoma, but home is now North Carolina.
This is the place where you'll often find me outside with a cup of coffee, walking among the pines, reading something with a pen nearby, or spending time with the people I love.
I'm happiest when life has enough room for good conversation, meaningful work, faith, family—and a little quiet to hear myself think.
